Hospital Corridor

Hospital Corridor is a medical passage repeatedly cut apart by red alarm lights. The main lighting has long since failed; ward doors, observation windows, and signs appear only for instants in the flashes. Gurneys, wheelchairs, IV stands, and scattered medical instruments obstruct the floor, while ceiling alarms continue their piercing cry. Each time the red light dies, the corridor ahead seems longer, yet the impacts and running behind never recede. Almost everyone who enters is pursued by groups of entities. They maintain impossible speed in the narrow corridor, smashing through swinging doors, clearing medical equipment, and using an ever-denser cadence of footsteps to force fugitives onward. Alarms, strobes, and ragged breathing quickly destroy any sense of distance; even stationary beds seem to advance in peripheral vision. Old records therefore describe this area as a flight in which nobody is allowed to stop.
